Her mother ships her off to Shadow Falls—a camp for troubled teens, and within hours of arriving, it becomes painfully clear that her fellow campers aren’t just “troubled.” Here at Shadow Falls, vampires, werewolves, shapshifters, witches and fairies train side by side—learning to harness their powers, control their magic and live in the normal world.

Kylie’s never felt normal, but surely she doesn’t belong here with a bunch of paranormal freaks either. Or does she? They insist Kylie is one of them, and that she was brought here for a reason. As if life wasn’t complicated enough, enter Derek and Lucas. Derek’s a half-fae who’s determined to be her boyfriend, and Lucas is a smokin’ hot werewolf with whom Kylie shares a secret past. Both Derek and Lucas couldn’t be more different, but they both have a powerful hold on her heart.

Even though Kylie feels deeply uncertain about everything, one thing is becoming painfully clear—Shadow Falls is exactly where she belongs…

C. Hunter that kept me turning the pages long past when I should have been sleeping. It starts out with a glimpse of Kylie Galen’s miserable home and love life and we learn that her parents are getting a divorce, her Nana recently died, and her boyfriend broke up with her because she wouldn’t “give out.” She also has an eerie stalker and night terrors that cause her to wake up screaming. When she finds herself trying to relax at a party that gets broken up by the cops her mom decides to send her away to a summer camp called Shadow Falls for troubled teens. Kylie soon finds out that this isn’t your average camp, but one for supernaturals that need help fitting in with humans. She doesn’t think she belongs there and to make matters worse the camp leaders don’t even know what she is, just that she isn’t human. She soon makes friends (as well as catches the eye of two sexy guys) and starts to feel like she belongs when she finds out the camp is in danger of closing due to recent killings at a nearby Wildlife park being blamed on kids at the camp. With her friends by her side she strides to find an answer for everything and in the meantime might just get herself killed. I found this book to be a refreshing change from all the books that focus on just one or two paranormal entities. I plan on picking up the next book and devouring it as soon as it hits my hands!

The challenge is: Which two authors would you pair up to co-write a book, and what would it be about?

Hmmm...So many choices! I would love to see Kimberly Derting and Sophie Littlefield team up. Their book would be about a girl who was orphaned as a baby and grew up knowing nothing about her family. When she turns 16 she receives an anonymous letter with an eerie song inside that when sung allows her to go back in time and learn about her family, but every time she sings it she has to stay in the past longer and longer until she can no longer go back.

Summary:
The sequel to the New York Times Best selling phenomenon, Hush, Hush!
Nora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

*Summary from Goodreads

Nora is looking forward to a normal summer, well as normal as you can get when you’re dating your guardian angel, but alas she finds herself enrolled in a summer chemistry course with none other than Marcie Miller, her nemesis. To make things worse Marcie and Nora are stuck as lab partners. As for Patch, he seems to become even more secretive than he already is. Add to that an old, and troubled, acquaintance, Scott, returning and Nora seems to have her hands full. While juggling Marcie, Patch, and Scott, Nora starts to look into her father’s mysterious death. She keeps thinking that she’s seeing him, but knows it can’t be true. She uncovers more secrets that she can count and finds her self in impeding danger.

The lovely Miss Becca Fitzpatrick has once again created a masterpiece of love, mysteries, and pasts that come back to haunt us. If there was someone in the room with me while I was reading it I would yell out quotes from the book (annoying them out of the room). Bo has created a work of art that reaches for your funny bone and grabs ahold. BTTB is the story of a dog who was adopted out of revenge and the ups and downs of his life. He tells us what it was like living in the shelter, being adopted, living with a cat, and growing old. I learned that dogs like to humiliate their humans for no reason other than that. Bo liked to punish his "parents" when they did something he didn't like such as taking the cat away. This dog was a master at getting more than just table scraps and he knew just when to cock his head. BTTB was a light, funny read that had me wondering just how much dogs (and a cat named Moose) are capable of.

It is hosted by Kristi (The Story Siren) and the challenge is to read at least 12 debut books throughout the year. If you need an incentive, Kristi gives away prize packs every month, but for the most part it should be about having fun and enjoying cool new books that have recently premiered.
Two years since her bike was discovered, sprawled on a sidewalk. Two years of silence, of worry, of fear.

For those two long years, her best friend Tessa has waited, living her own life in a state of suspended animation. Because how can she allow herself to enjoy a normal high school life if Noelle can’t? How dare she have other friends, go to dances, date boys, without knowing what happened to the girl she thought she would share everything with?

And then one day, someone calls Noelle’s house. She’s alive.

A haunting psychological thriller taken straight from the headlines, The Tension of Opposites is a striking debut that explores the emotional aftermath of a kidnapping on the victim, and on the people she left behind.

*Photo and Summary borrowed from Goodreads

I was surprised at the way that Noelle acted once she started socializing again. She was angry, of course, but she was also extremely self-destructive. Some of the people around her had me going “heartless bastards” and I wondered if they really knew the impact of their actions. *Note that I am not talking about the kidnapper; he knew what he was doing and was fully aware of the consequences.
Overall I would recommend this book to anyone that can handle the reality of a situation such as this. Pick up The Tension of Opposites and you won’t be disappointed.

Hunger for touch.

Hunger to belong.

Half-human and half-faery, Ani is driven by her hungers.
Those same appetites also attract powerful enemies and uncertain allies, including Devlin. He was created as an assassin and is brother to the faeries’ coolly logical High Queen and to her chaotic twin, the embodiment of War. Devlin wants to keep Ani safe from his sisters, knowing that if he fails, he will be the instrument of Ani’s death.

Ani isn’t one to be guarded while others fight battles for her, though. She has the courage to protect herself and the ability to alter Devlin’s plans—and his life. The two are drawn together, each with reason to fear the other and to fear for one another. But as they grow closer, a larger threat imperils the whole of Faerie. Will saving the faery realm mean losing each other?
Alluring romance, heart-stopping danger, and sinister intrigue combine in Melissa Marr’s next volume of Melissa Marr’s New York Times bestselling Wicked Lovely series.

I loved Ani's character soooo much! I loved her quirky little growls and how she doesn't give in to fear, she faces it. The story revolves around three characters: Ani, Devlin (Sorcha's brother/son/assassin), and Rae (a.k.a. Katherine Rae O'Flaherty, a human dreamwalker hidden in the faerie realm).

All Ani wants to do is be accepted into The Pack, but because she is a halfling she will only ever be Gabriel's pup, nothing more. She feeds her hunger with mortals' touch and emotions, yet that isn't strong enough. When she tries with other faeries the most she will get is a few measly emotions because they all know not to touch Gabriel's daughter. She yearns for more, but will she get it?

Devlin has spent his entire life serving Sorcha as an assassin and easing the burden that is Bananach, but he disobeys a single order and his fate takes a change in course. He soon finds himself hiding things from Sorcha and that she is keeping things from him as well. Will he be able to find the right path or is it too late?

When Rae first wakes up in the faerie realm, she thinks it is all a dream. But soon after she realizes that she is in a powerful place and that she has the ability to dreamwalk. Through a chance encounter she learns of two fates, one of death and the other of a possible future that could change the world. Will she be able to guide the course of fate in the right direction?

This book took my breath away and left me with a hunger, not unlike Ani's, for the next book in the series. It was filled with danger and secrets as well as drama and love. I reccomend it to all!!! Enjoy!
